Asset outputs - acquisition cost, depreciation, events, residual value

Written by Petra Roubalova

Through the Assets module, you can record all types of assets, e.g. minor, tangible/intangible, long-term/short-term. You can also view and print a fixed asset card with an overview of how the asset was depreciated in individual years, both for accounting and tax purposes.

The main prerequisite is to have asset cards processed with accounting/tax depreciation generated in them. For automatic processing of the asset classification record, the function in the asset card must be checked. Events such as technical improvements, etc. are recorded in the asset card in the "Events" section.

In this article, we will show you which print outputs to work with as part of the company's financial year-end closing.

Asset Overview

Basic print reports are available in the main menu of the Assets module. You can find them under the "printer" icon.

The "Asset Overview" print output contains the following information:

  • asset inventory number

  • name

  • asset type

  • asset category

  • classification cost

  • classification date

  • depreciation group

  • increased depreciation in year 1

  • generate accounting depreciation

  • primary asset account

  • classification offset account

  • depreciation account

  • accumulated depreciation account

  • cost center

  • supplier

  • number of depreciation months (accounting depreciation)

This information corresponds to the data available in the header of each individual asset card.

Assets (tax depreciation, events, accounting depreciation)

The "Assets (tax depreciation, events, accounting depreciation)" print output contains the following information:

  • information from the asset card header

  • events in the asset card (classification, technical improvements, etc.)

  • list of tax depreciation entries

  • list of accounting depreciation entries

  • net book value of the asset throughout the depreciation plan

This information corresponds to the data available in the individual tabs at the bottom of each asset card.

Asset Status as of Date

The "Asset Status as of Date" function is also available in the top menu of the Assets module.

Here you need to enter the date as of which the output should be generated.

A list of assets in the accounting entity as of the specified date will then be generated. The list includes only assets that have not been disposed of, or assets that were disposed of within the accounting period for which the list is being generated.

Basic print reports are available in the main menu. You can find them under the "printer" icon.

The "Asset Status Overview" print output contains the following information:

  • asset inventory number

  • name

  • asset type

  • tax depreciation group

  • number of accounting depreciation months

  • last tax depreciation

  • last accounting depreciation

  • classification cost

  • current asset value

  • classification date

  • disposal date

  • start of tax depreciation

  • start of accounting depreciation

  • tax depreciation amount for the accounting period

  • accounting depreciation amount for the accounting period

  • total tax depreciation amount

  • total accounting depreciation amount

  • tax net book value of the asset

  • accounting net book value of the asset

  • cost center

  • primary asset account

The net book value of tax/accounting depreciation is particularly important when processing the company's financial year-end closing.

The "Asset Status Overview (with group summations)" print output contains information for specific assets summarized into groups.

It also includes the cumulative difference between accounting and tax depreciation for the displayed assets for the given accounting period.
