Writing Off an Asset Card

How to enter already written-off assets?

Written by Lenka Haringerová

In the following article, we will show you how to create a record for an asset that has already been fully depreciated. In ABRA Flexi, navigate to the "Assets" module.

Using the "New" button, create an asset card and fill in the asset type. Initially, you will need to select either tangible or intangible asset. The price at the time of inclusion equals the initial acquisition cost. The purchase date represents the actual acquisition date, e.g. 01/01/2015. Fill in the remaining details on the "Basic Sheet" tab.

Next, switch to the "Depreciation" tab and set the option to create accounting depreciation to YES. Then enter the value in months for "depreciated at inclusion." This will open the option to modify the accounting and tax depreciation balance fields — set them to zero.

In the next step, delete the value in months entered in the "depreciated at inclusion" field.

You can now return to the "Basic Sheet" tab and change the asset type to Non-depreciable (record only).

In the following view, you can see that the "Depreciation" tab and the "Tax and Accounting Depreciation" tabs are inactive. The residual value for both depreciation types is CZK 0.

Any notes regarding the depreciation method used in previous years can be added in the "Texts" tab.
