Incorrect printing from Flexi

Only frames are printed without text, incorrect font or bold / italic applied to the entire document

Written by Petr Pech

This is typically caused by an incorrectly installed CMU Bright font

Common Symptoms

  • Bold/italic font styling appearing where it should not, or applied to the entire document

  • A completely different font being displayed

  • Output reports printing with empty fields — only cell borders are printed (e.g., when printing an issued invoice)

  • Cell content misalignment when generating output reports (e.g., when generating invoices to PDF), where content such as account numbers or dates shifts up or down within the field and overlaps with the cell border

Solution 1 – Uninstall the Font

First, try uninstalling the CMU Bright font from your OS and installing a fresh copy. Download it here.

Windows

  1. Search for "Font settings".

  2. In the list, use "Available fonts" to find "CMU Bright" and uninstall it.

  3. Download the font package above, open it, and drag the files into the font settings area.

If the change does not take effect immediately, you may need to restart your computer.

Solution 2 – Reinstall Flexi

If uninstalling the font does not resolve the issue, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Uninstall Flexi

  2. Clear the Flexi cache

  3. Verify that no CMU Bright font remains in your OS fonts — if any are found, delete them (see above)

  4. Reinstall Flexi

Note: Flexi prints its reports in graphics mode, not text mode — please also verify that this mode is correctly configured on your (any) printer.
