Just as you can receive goods into and issue goods from a warehouse, you can also transfer goods between warehouses. A stock transfer is nothing more than an issue from warehouse A followed by a receipt into warehouse B.
When creating a stock transfer, you can use document types to save yourself the effort of filling in the required details on each individual document.
Creating Document Types
Go to warehouse document types (search for "Warehouse Document Types") and create two types there — "Transfer Receipt" and "Transfer Issue".
First, we will create the document type "Transfer Receipt". You can fill in a number of details, such as whether it is an accounting document or not. In our case, however, it is sufficient to fill in only the movement type.
Once the document type is configured this way, we can save it and proceed to creating the document type "Transfer Issue". This one contains more important details.
Movement type + specification
Set this to "Transfer Issue". Thanks to this specification, Flexi knows that this is a stock transfer and will require the transfer to be completed with a receipt into the destination warehouse.
Transfer document type
This determines the document type that will be used when creating the receipt into the destination warehouse. In our case, this is the previously created document type "Transfer Receipt".
Once the above settings are configured, we can proceed to creating the stock transfer.
Creating a Stock Transfer
As mentioned above, a stock transfer always has two sides — an issue and a receipt. The issue must always be created first. With the correct configuration, Flexi can automatically create the receipt into the destination warehouse.
On the issue document, you can (in addition to the details pre-filled from the document type) specify the destination warehouse. If you fill it in before saving the document, Flexi will not prompt you for the warehouse when saving.
You also need to fill in the items being transferred and save the document. If all of the above is completed, the web interface will finalize the transfer automatically.
The second option is to complete the transfer manually using the actions available in the bottom section.
Both options will create a receipt into the destination warehouse, thereby completing the stock transfer.
