If you are managing inventory, you need to keep records for at least one warehouse. If you are managing or want to manage inventory in ABRA Flexi, you must have a warehouse where the relevant items will be recorded.
Subsequently assigning a warehouse to price list items creates a stock card. Once this step is complete, you can start working with the stock inventory of individual items, i.e., creating receipts or issue notes.

Where to find the list of warehouses
You can easily find the list of warehouses using the search tool;
or find it in the overview of all agendas.
By default, the warehouse list contains only one default warehouse. However, you can create any number of your own warehouses, or simply rename this default warehouse to a suitable name.
Creating a new warehouse
You can easily create a new warehouse using the "New" button in the top right corner.
Below we explain the purpose of each form field. The displayed form fields can also be customized as needed using their settings.
Warehouse identification
Code: The warehouse identifier. You will use it mainly when importing document items or stock cards, specifically to identify the warehouse.
Name: The name of the warehouse; it has no further implications.
Description: An additional description; it has no further implications.
Automatic creation of stock cards
Automatic warehouse: If enabled (true), a stock card will be automatically created (in this warehouse) when a new price list item is created.
⚠️ This field determines whether stock cards are created automatically, or whether a warehouse must be selected manually for each new item. If you have multiple warehouses and this flag is enabled on all of them, a card will be created for every new stock item on each of them. Conversely, if the flag is disabled, a new item will not appear in any warehouse until you add its location.
Validity and document series
Valid from / Valid to: Restricts the validity of the given warehouse to an accounting period. This is mainly useful when you want to stop using a warehouse at the turn of a period.
Receipt series / Issue series: The document series used to issue individual warehouse documents.
Accounting and currency
Warehouse account: The account from the chart of accounts to which individual documents will be posted.
Currency: Specifies the currency in which the warehouse is to be recorded. Currency is a property of the warehouse, not of an individual document. A document created from an issued order takes over the order's currency, while a document created from a received invoice takes over the warehouse's currency. This is not an error, but the intended behavior.
⚠️ Choose the warehouse currency at the outset and do not change it afterward. If you record documents in a foreign currency for a warehouse kept in your local currency (or vice versa), the values in the two currencies will stop matching. Once you have filled in the fields mentioned above, you can proceed to create the warehouse. Save it using the button in the bottom right corner of the form.
You can create any number of additional warehouses as needed in the same way.
What comes after creating a warehouse
As mentioned in the introduction to this guide, warehouses are used to create stock cards for individual price list items. You can learn how to do this in the guides for price list items and stock cards.

FAQ
Can ABRA Flexi handle consignment warehouses?
Not by default; the application does not have a dedicated feature for this. It depends, however, on the specific situation involved. A warehouse that you keep at your customer's location is managed in Flexi using standard tools, since the goods remain your property. A supplier's warehouse located at your premises runs into the issue that its value is included in your accounting. Both cases are discussed in detail in the article Consignment warehouses.
