In this chapter, we will walk through a specific example of importing data from Excel into the Internal Documents register. Internal documents are used to create accounting and closing entries, as well as exchange rate and residual differences that are not related to matching. For more information about internal documents, please refer to our documentation.
Many data fields may need to be imported at the level of internal document line items — if you have already created the internal document header and want to import its line items, please follow the guide for importing line items.
If your license includes imports of issued invoices, this feature will be available in the Tools module (Tools -> Import -> Import from Excel -> Internal Documents).
We will now proceed to import a specific sample file. We will be importing the following sample file: interni_doklady.xls
Since the Excel file contains column headers, check the "Ignore first row (column names)" option when selecting columns.
Warning: The order of the columns selected for import must exactly match the order of the columns in the Excel file.
The table below explains what value each column should contain.
Column | Description |
Document type | Enter the code of the internal document type — see documentation. |
Internal number | Enter the internal number with which the internal document should be created. |
Date issued | Issue date |
Tax date | The date on which the document is included in the VAT return. |
Posting date | The date on which the internal document is posted to the accounting records. |
Primary account | Base debit account (Dr) |
Contra account | Base credit account (Cr) |
It is possible to import considerably more information into internal documents. For example, if you want to import an amount directly into the document header rather than having it calculated through line items, you need to take into account the import rules.
A full list of register attribute properties can be found at:

After selecting the relevant columns, click the "Ok" button. A table will appear showing the data types and properties of the selected columns.
After clicking the "OK" button, select the file to import and confirm your consent to import the records. The import will notify you about the creation of new internal documents.
If you are importing existing records to update them, the import confirmation dialog will look the same as shown in the screenshot below.
If the import fails and the Excel file needs to be corrected, a window with specific error details should appear, along with an option to send an error report to Flexi support.
If the import completes successfully, you will find two newly created records in the Internal Documents register.
