What is the Right to Erasure
The Right to Erasure is a right that obliges the data controller to delete personal data (without undue delay) if one of the following reasons applies:
The personal data is no longer necessary for the controller — it has fulfilled the purpose for which it was collected.
The individual withdraws their consent to processing (applicable where processing is based on consent and no other legal basis for processing exists).
The individual objects to processing based on the legitimate interests of the data controller, such as maintaining employee records.
The personal data has been processed unlawfully.
Where parental consent for the processing of children's personal data has not been granted.
A legal obligation imposed by Union or Member State law.
How to enter a Right to Erasure request in Flexi
Let's now walk through our example of creating a Right to Erasure request.
Open the Requests register in the GDPR module.
In this case, it is important to specify the request type as Right to Erasure.
The maximum resolution time for the request may vary; in this example, 1 month is specified.
Next, select the subject from the address book who submitted the request, and the person within your company who is handling it.
Additional details such as Circumstances, Note, Communication, and Attachments are not mandatory, but we recommend completing them in case you need to provide evidence to the data protection authority.
