Links Between Documents

Written by Petr Pech

🔗 The Links Button

The Links button is available both on the top toolbar of the document list and on the top toolbar of individual documents.

Use it to get information about all documents that are linked to the selected document.

🔄 Ways Document Links Are Created

Links between documents can be created in several ways:

  • 📦 Automatic generation of stock documents
If you have "Automatically generate stock documents" enabled in the document type settings, the corresponding stock documents are automatically created when a document containing stock items is generated.

  • 💰 Document payment
A link is created when a document is paid, i.e., after it is matched with the paying document.

  • 🛠️ Manual link creation via the Services button
A link can be created manually using the Services button on the top toolbar.
This button offers various link options — including links within the so-called business cycle.

ℹ️ Document With No Links

If a document is standalone and has not yet been linked to any other document, the application will notify you of this.

📋 Viewing the Links Dialog

If links exist, a dedicated dialog will appear displaying all links in a clear, organized view.

The top toolbar of this dialog contains a number of buttons, whose functions are described in the separate section "Program Controls".

Links Dialog Structure

  • First row of the dialog
Displayed in bold and represents the document for which links are being looked up.

  • Subsequent rows of the dialog
Contain all other documents that are sequentially linked to it.

All of these links are subsequently visible on all mutually connected documents, not just from one direction.

Information About Linked Documents

The dialog provides a range of information about linked documents directly:

  • Module name
Lets you immediately identify which module the linked document belongs to.

  • Link type
Information about the type of link (e.g., payment, advance invoice link, advance invoice deduction, stock document, etc.).

  • Issue date
The date the document was issued.

  • Code
    The internal document number.

  • Total [CZK]
The total value of the document in Czech crowns.

  • Currency
Information about the currency in which the document is denominated, if it is in a foreign currency.

  • Total [currency]
The total value of the document in the given currency.

  • Posting date
The date the document was posted.

  • Document type
The document type as defined in document types (e.g., advance, invoice, cash register, etc.).

  • Document status
The current status of the document, for example paid or partially paid.

  • Variable symbol
The variable symbol of the document.

  • Description
    The description of the document.

  • Note
A note attached to the document.

  • User
The user who created the document.

🔍 Opening a Linked Document

If you select a specific linked document, you can open it for viewing or editing (depending on your access rights) using the Open Document button.
