How to Get Started with Assets

Getting Started with the Assets Module

Written by Lenka Haringerová

The Company Setup Wizard describes the sequence of steps and how to configure the program parameters required for the correct functionality and interconnection of the system. The General Document Properties chapter provides a detailed description of the common properties shared by all documents in Flexi.

First and foremost, the necessary code lists must be filled in before you create the first asset record. More advanced users may update the code lists while building the Asset list.

  • You must first define the numeric document series for invoices.

  • Next, you need to expand the standard invoice types and add details about their posting, VAT return classification, rounding, and so on. Using invoice types allows you to predefine a number of parameters that you will no longer need to enter manually during routine invoicing.

A prerequisite is that the company's chart of accounts has already been created in the accounting module.

  • Once these code lists have been populated, you can proceed to update the assets.

  • After entering the asset card header, depreciation schedules and events will be generated.

  • A completed asset card can be modified at any time (provided it was created in the current period).

Correctly completed asset cards are automatically posted to the current accounting period upon saving. Once that period is closed, depreciation will be posted in the following accounting period.
