How to Access the Web Interface

What is the ABRA Flexi web interface and how to log in to it

Written by Petr Pech

What is the web interface

If you do not want to install the ABRA Flexi application on your PC, you can use the web interface. The interface is independent of the Flexi variant. The web interface is always available to you. It does not matter which deployment variant of ABRA Flexi you use — whether our cloud, your own server, or a local installation. In all variants, both the web interface and the client application are available. Access to the web interface differs slightly depending on the variant.

Compared to the desktop application, the web interface offers a number of improvements that make work easier for users and streamline data entry. Currently, the web interface offers enhancements such as a smart assistant, a notification center — alerting you to potential errors and issues — as well as document loading from PDF, more efficient imports from Excel, appearance customization, global filters, QR code payments, and more.

Currently, the web interface does not yet reach the full functionality of the desktop application. The web interface is still under development, and new features are added regularly. At the moment, modules such as Employees, Asset editing, and price list bill of materials are not yet available, among others.

Connecting to the web interface

When running on our cloud, accessing the web interface is straightforward.

You can log in directly on our website by selecting Login from the menu. You will be redirected to a screen where you enter the name of your instance.

You can find the name of your instance in the customer link you received when you ordered your ABRA Flexi license.

A cloud address might look like https://demo.flexibee.eu/ (or similarly vase-firma.flexibee.eu)

When running on your own server, the web interface address is the IP address or server name on your network along with the port assigned by your IT administrator — for example http://server.firma.cz:434/ (or for instance http://109.240.60.105:123/)

The address for a local installation is always on your personal computer: http://127.0.0.1:5434/ (or equivalently http://localhost:5434/)

Another way to find the address of your instance is through data source management in the desktop application. Data source management will also show you the address when running ABRA Flexi on your own server.

Once you know the address of your ABRA Flexi instance, you can also enter it directly into the address bar of your web browser.

The web interface will immediately prompt you to log in. You log in to the web interface the same way as in the desktop application — using your username and password.

Which interface should you choose?

The main difference lies primarily in the use case for each interface. The web interface is not yet a full replacement for the desktop application.

Using the client application:

The desktop application provides all system features and is intended for full-featured, everyday work with the software.

Using the web interface:

A quick look at your data, quickly creating an invoice, access from anywhere including on mobile — these are the reasons to use the web interface, for example for a travelling sales representative. If you only need to check your data while on the go or perform a simple operation, the web interface is the right choice.

FAQ

Is the data the same in the web interface and in the desktop application?

Yes, the data is identical — what matters is the data source. If you connect to the same data source as in the desktop application, you are viewing the same data. You are simply accessing the data through a different user interface, with a different display and different data interactions.

When will the web interface have full functionality like the desktop application?

The development of the web interface is very extensive, and it is not currently possible to state with certainty when it will reach full functionality. Development follows the ABRA Flexi license tiers; by 2022, the web interface was expected to offer full functionality for the Basic variant.

My web interface looks completely different and does not include the features described.

There is an older version of the web interface that remains active for certain system settings and for the free One license variant. To connect to the new web interface, simply change /c/ to /flexi/ in the address bar, or click the "Try the new web interface" button in the old web interface (this option is not available for the free One license).
