1. What the error means
The ABRA Flexi installation failed because the database (PostgreSQL) could not be started.
Most commonly, remnants of a previous installation remain on the system.
2. Cause
incomplete or partial uninstallation of Flexi
leftover files on the system (Program Files)
the Winstrom PostgreSQL service still exists
Flexi background processes still running
3. Solution
Step 1 – terminate running processes
Open Task Manager
End all Flexi / PostgreSQL processes (e.g.
flexibee,postgres,FB)
Step 2 – check folders
Check the
C:\Program Files\folder (orProgram Files (x86))If any Flexi / Winstrom folders remain, delete them
⚠️ Warning: Do not delete the database folder without a backup.
Step 3 – back up your data
If a database folder exists, create a copy of it (e.g. the entire PostgreSQL directory)
Step 4 – check services
Computer Management → Services
Locate the Winstrom PostgreSQL service
if it exists → restart your PC
if it persists after the restart → it needs to be removed
⚠️ Advanced: You can also remove the service via the Windows Registry. Only proceed this way if you know what you are doing.
Step 5 – fresh installation
After restarting, perform a fresh installation of ABRA Flexi
