Warehouse mapping allows you to define the storage location of an item that is included in a bill of materials or a bundle.
This feature is used in two scenarios:
1) During production using a bill of materials (when a finished product is received into stock, the corresponding materials are automatically issued from the warehouse specified in the warehouse mapping)
2) When selling a bundle (the corresponding bundle components are dispatched from the warehouse specified in the warehouse mapping)

How to set up warehouse mapping correctly?
Warehouse mapping can be found in the Goods module, under Goods - Warehouse Mapping.
After opening the register and clicking the New button, a form for a new mapping record will open. This record defines where the items (materials) of the bill of materials or the items (components) of the bundle are located.
Warehouse mapping is divided into three sections.
Cost Centre Selection
If your company is organized by cost centres, you can define in the warehouse mapping which cost centre it should apply to. If you have only one cost centre (e.g. C: Headquarters), select the first option — for all cost centres.
Goods Selection
Here you define which goods the mapping will apply to.
The most commonly used option is a goods group. For example, if you select the goods group MATERIAL, the mapping will apply to all price list items contained within it. In practice, this means that whenever a finished product is received or a bundle is sold and the item in the bill of materials or bundle belongs to the MATERIAL group, it will be issued from the warehouse specified below.
You can also define warehouse mapping directly for a specific price list item — this is done using the last toggle in the goods selection section.
Pre-selected Warehouse
This is the final step — all that remains is to specify where the items matching the settings above are located.
As mentioned in the point above, if the items in the bill of materials or bundle match the warehouse mapping settings, they will always be issued from the warehouse specified here.
We will now walk through two usage examples — one for a bill of materials and one for bundles and kits.
Bill of Materials
Let's say we have a bill of materials for a product set up as follows.
The product FRONT WHEEL consists of the following materials:
RIM (1 pc); HUB (1 pc); SPOKES (32 pcs)
All materials are included in the goods group MATERIAL and are stored in the PLZEŇ warehouse, which is a different warehouse from the one where the finished product will be received. For bills of materials, warehouse mapping is particularly useful when the materials are stored in a different warehouse than the one where the finished product will be received.
We will therefore set up the warehouse mapping as follows.
Since our company is not divided into cost centres, we select the first option — for all cost centres. We then define the warehouse mapping for the goods group MATERIAL and specify that the items are located in the PLZEŇ warehouse.
The warehouse mapping is now ready, and provided we have sufficient materials in stock, we can proceed with production.
We create a goods receipt with the item FRONT WHEEL and set the movement type to Product Receipt (this is the key information for Flexi during production).
When the goods receipt is saved, a material issue document is automatically created for the warehouse specified in the warehouse mapping — in our case, the PLZEŇ warehouse.
Bundles and Kits
Let's say we have a bundle CAMERA BUNDLE set up as follows.
The first item NIKON belongs to the goods group CAMERAS and is stored in the PLZEŇ warehouse.
The second item SD belongs to the goods group SD CARDS and is stored in the LIBEREC warehouse.
Warehouse mapping will therefore need to be set up separately for each item.
With this configuration in place, we can proceed to sell the bundle by creating a sales invoice.
Provided that the invoice type is configured to automatically create a warehouse document, a goods issue document will be generated from two warehouses.
