Company Groups - WUI

How to properly set up company groups in the web interface? What is their main purpose?

Company groups are a tool that allows you to easily organize individual companies in the address book into groups you define.

The company groups codebook can be easily found using the web interface search.

If you use company groups frequently, you can easily customize the left-side menu and move the group into it.

Creating a Company Group

As an example, we will create one company group — we will name it "Wholesale Customers".

It is sufficient to create a group with just a code and a name — its only purpose is to serve as a linking element between individual companies in the address book.

Note

Company groups are not the same as price list groups, which are groups that pricing rules are tied to. To set up price list groups, please refer to the relevant guide.

Once the company group has been saved, the next step is to assign the group to individual companies. This can be done directly in the company detail view (the "Group" field) or by using bulk changes.

Select the individual companies and proceed to bulk changes, where you select the "Group" field and the value (in our case) "VELKOOBCHOD".

After confirming, the changes will be applied. The result will display the exact number of records updated, or an error message describing the cause of any issue.

Using Company Groups

Company groups are useful both for keeping the address book organized — you can easily filter by them — and for analyzing turnover and similar metrics focused specifically on a given group.

Filtering

You can create a filter based on company groups, save it, and then use it on a regular basis.

To learn how to work with filters, refer to the documentation.

Sales/Purchase Analysis

In both sales and purchase analysis, you can focus your analysis specifically on company groups. The result will therefore not show individual companies, but rather the total figures for the respective company groups.
