Generating a Balance Sheet - Example (GUI)

How to Generate a Balance Sheet in ABRA Flexi

Written by Lenka Haringerová

The balance sheet can be generated in the menu Accounting - Accounting Outputs - Balance Sheet:

If you have already generated the balance sheet in the past, simply select Display in the following dialog box. However, if the balance sheet for the given period has not yet been calculated, you need to click Recalculate:

A window will then appear allowing you to select balance sheet rows for specific accounts:

If you have never generated a balance sheet in ABRA Flexi before, or if you have added new accounts or the print form has changed, you need to assign balance sheet rows to some accounts to indicate where the values from those accounts should appear. You can only choose from the row options on which a given account may appear — for example, account 311 can appear on row 48 - A.C.II.1.1, which represents long-term receivables, or on row 58 - A.C.II.2.1, which represents short-term receivables.

If you are unsure what a particular row means, refer to a sample form, for example here:

Once you have filled in the rows here, they will remain filled in until the balance sheet form changes.

Once all rows have been filled in, you can click the OK button:

In the next step, Flexi will prompt you to select a period, define rounding, and optionally select a cost center:

If you check the Change default previous period option, you can define the period that will appear in the prior year column. This feature is particularly useful when generating a balance sheet for only part of an accounting period and you want to compare the values against the same part of the previous period:

After defining these default values, you can click the Calculate button.

If you have chosen to round the balance sheet, a rounding error may appear on a particular row, meaning that assets do not match liabilities. In that case, you need to select the row to which this difference should be added (typically a row with a high turnover is selected).

A table with the calculated values will then be displayed:

Using the "yellow printer" icon in the top menu, you can then display the balance sheet form you currently need.

If your balance sheet does not balance, we recommend using the Balance Sheet Rows (Account Breakdown) report, where you can find out which specific accounts appear on a given row.

The top menu displays the name Balance Sheet in Full Scope from 2018; however, this does not mean the balance sheet is calculated for the year 2018 — it means that the balance sheet form has not changed since 2018 (the period for which the balance sheet is calculated can be found in the second row).

Generating the balance sheet and P&L statement in XML for electronic submission to Moje daně is available in all versions of the application. You can find it under Accounting / Accounting Outputs / Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement in XML.

The generated XML will include the balance sheet and P&L statement outputs with the rounding setting applied during their last generation. Therefore, before submission, the outputs must be recalculated with rounding set to whole thousands.

When submitting an XML file generated in this way, it is necessary to load the file into the Moje daně portal first and only then proceed with signing in. Doing it in the opposite order results in the error "person could not be identified".
