Google's new security policy does not allow PLAIN authentication using a username and password, and has changed its security system for access by external applications. Here you will find a complete guide on how to proceed in order to send emails from ABRA Flexi using your Gmail account.
Gmail Account Setup
1. The account must have 2FA enabled — two-factor authentication in the account settings, under Security – How you sign in to Google - https://myaccount.google.com/security
2. After enabling 2FA, you need to create an app password under App Passwords - https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords (you will be required to sign in again as usual).
3. For App Passwords, select Mail and your computer, as shown in the screenshot.
4. After clicking Generate, Google will generate a password that must be used in the ABRA Flexi application, as described in the next step.
ABRA Flexi Setup
In the desktop application, the SMTP server can be configured via the menu Tools -> SMTP Server Settings. To access this feature, the user must have the ADMIN role with server rights — Access all companies.
1. In the SMTP settings, enter your email address, port 465, and SSL security.
The key field is the Password, where you must enter the generated password from Gmail in step 4 of the previous section. This is not your standard email account password.
