When you enter a document in a foreign currency, Flexi converts it to the local currency line by line, rounding each item to two decimal places. The sum of these items may then differ by a few cents from the amount stated by the supplier on the original invoice. Local currency price correction lets you eliminate this difference so that the document matches the original.
ℹ️ Don't confuse this with the Document Price Rounding feature. That one adjusts the base and VAT in the document currency, while the correction adjusts the base and VAT in the local currency. Both features can be used on the same document at the same time.
When to Use This Feature
Typically for a received invoice in a foreign currency, where you are required to record the exact amounts stated on the supplier's document, but the conversion to the local currency differs by a few cents.
This feature is available for received invoices and cash receipts.
Steps in the Desktop Application
Open Purchase → Received Invoices and click into the document detail.
Make sure the document is in a foreign currency and has its items filled in. This feature is not available for documents in the local currency.
Select Services → Local Currency Price Correction.
In the Required Prices field, enter the base and VAT amounts in the local currency exactly as they should appear on the document.
Save. An item that balances out the difference will be automatically added to the document.
⚠️ Neither Document Price Rounding nor Local Currency Price Correction is available on paid documents. You must first cancel the payment link.
What About Issued Invoices?
On the issued invoices side, the same issue is handled using the VAT Correction feature. It adjusts the VAT amount in the currency so that the base multiplied by the rate matches the total amount. It does not correct the behavior of bases in the local currency.
