A manual backup creates a complete copy of a single company's data in a file. System operation is not interrupted, and the backup is consistent — it saves the state of the data at the moment the backup began. Access to this feature can be controlled through user permissions.
ℹ️ Running Flexi in our cloud? ABRA automatically handles regular backups, so you don't need to worry about them. Create a manual backup when you want to keep your own copy of the data or before making major changes to your data. On your own server, backups are entirely your responsibility.
How to back up a company
You can create a backup in two ways:
When logging out — when asked "Would you like to back up the company's accounting before closing the program?", click Yes.
Anytime while the system is running — via the menu Company → Company Backup.
In both cases, you'll then choose where to save the backup. We recommend using storage other than the one running the system itself — typically an external drive or network storage.
How to restore a backup
Log in to Flexi and, in the initial selection, choose the company the backup originated from.
Click the Restore from Backup button.
Select the backup file from your computer or external drive.
If you no longer need the original company, disconnect it using the Disconnect Company button.
⚠️ Restoring a backup does not overwrite the existing company — it creates a new one instead. This new company has the same name with the restoration date added. The original company remains untouched, so both will briefly exist side by side after the restore.
How often to back up
On your own server, we recommend backing up at least once a day. Data can be lost not only due to a computer failure or network outage, but also due to unintended user actions.
💡 Planning a bulk data update, import, or a change you're not entirely sure about? Create a backup beforehand — it's the fastest way to undo it if needed.
