Getting started with business partners
The "Business Partners" module is used across all other modules of the application. It is therefore important to first consider which groups you will use to categorize your companies. Grouping companies is not mandatory, but it is a valuable tool — particularly for accounting purposes — as it allows companies to be organized in line with analytical accounts for suppliers or customers.
It is also worth thinking about what you expect from this module. In the "Company Addresses" section, you can fill in a wide range of details. Which fields you complete depends on how you intend to use the directory. For example, there is no need to enter banking details for customers. Company addresses can be added and updated at any time, just as you can add or edit information on individual company records.
One of the required fields is the "Relationship Type" field in the header of the main panel, which makes it easier to navigate the list.
Company addresses can be imported from Excel or XML files, and can equally be exported to Excel, XML, or vCard format. Company addresses and a variety of other details can also be updated directly from the internet.
The directory can be printed. You can narrow it down beforehand using the filter bar by group or relationship type. The buttons on the top toolbar provide additional filtering and search options. Individual addresses can be printed on up to 3 envelope sizes (DL 110×220 mm, C6 114×162 mm, C5 162×229 mm).
