Installation
Obtain the Flexi system, which you can download from the Internet. Before installing, verify that your computer meets the system requirements for running Flexi. If you are using antivirus software, you must configure it accordingly. Then double-click the installation file. The installer welcome screen will appear — click the Next button.
The Installation Type window will appear. If you plan to run Flexi on a single PC only, leave the Local Installation option selected. For a network installation across multiple computers, refer to the Network Installation section.
Click the Next button.
You can now choose the location where the data for your accounting companies will be stored. If you do not want to specify a custom location, we recommend leaving the default. Click the Next button.
Now select the location where Flexi will be installed. We recommend keeping the default installation path, but you may choose a different one. Click the Install button.
The installation will begin. Depending on your computer's performance, this may take up to several minutes.
Once the installation completes successfully, the installer's final screen will appear. The installation is now complete. Clicking the Finish button will close the installer and launch the Flexi accounting system.
Installation Log
If the installation fails, you can find the installation log at C:\Program Files (x86)\WinStrom\install.log. Please provide this log to support when trying to identify the cause of the installation failure.
Uninstallation
If you decide to uninstall Flexi for any reason, go to the Start menu and find the Flexi folder in the list of programs. Click the Flexi (uninstall) link. The uninstallation window will then launch. Alternatively, right-click on Flexi and select Uninstall.
The first uninstallation screen informs you about the program that will be removed from your computer. Click the Next button.
In the next step, choose whether you also want to remove the accounting company data. By checking the Remove accounting companies option and clicking the Uninstall button, the program will be uninstalled and all accounting company data — i.e., all accounting records — will be permanently deleted. If you select this option, the program will ask you once more to confirm that you wish to proceed.
If you only want to uninstall the program while keeping the accounting company data, leave the option unchecked and simply click the Uninstall button.
You will be notified that the uninstallation is complete via the final uninstallation screen. Click the Finish button.
Upgrading to a Newer Version
Close the running Flexi program and launch the installer for the newer version. After the welcome screen, a page will appear informing you of the option to update your currently installed version of Flexi. If you want to update the existing installation, leave the Update Flexi option selected and click the Next button. If you want to perform a different type of installation, select Other Installation Type and click the Next button. In this case, the installation will proceed in the same way as if you were installing Flexi for the first time.
Network Installation
A network installation is performed when you want multiple accountants to work together on the accounting data of one or more companies. In this setup, a database server will run on the network, and individual client installations will connect to it.
A network installation differs from a local installation in the second step of the setup, where the user selects the Network Installation option and clicks the Next button.
In the next step, the user can choose to install either the server or the client component. The server manages the accounting data and is typically present only once on the network, usually running on dedicated hardware. The client is installed on each accountant's machine and is configured to connect to the installed server. Depending on the component you want to install, select either Client Installation or Server Installation and click the Next button.
The remaining steps of the installation are identical to the local installation. For a network server installation, once the installation is complete you must ensure that the firewall does not block access to the server. For the standard Windows Firewall, the installer handles this automatically; for third-party firewalls, you will need to configure the exception manually. For more information, see the dedicated page.
Note: Silent / unattended installation is not supported.
