The sales analysis is a powerful tool and assistant for retrieving all data related to sales documents. Just as in the desktop application, the analysis is available in the web user interface (WUI).
It includes six default analysis types; however, none of the default types may suit your needs. Therefore, it also offers the option to create a custom analysis, which can be tailored to your specific analytical requirements.
If you need a specific data analysis that is not available within the standard sales analysis, have us build a custom query based on your specifications.
The sales analysis can be found by searching for keywords;
or by browsing within the full agenda overview.
Once you confirm opening the sales analysis, the analysis settings mentioned earlier will appear. The Analysis Settings field determines how the analysis will be processed.
The six default options are as follows:
Which customer generated the highest turnover/profit?
Which customer group generated the highest turnover/profit?
Which price list group generated the highest turnover/profit?
Which product generated the highest turnover/profit?
What did I sell to a selected customer?
Who did I sell a selected product to?
The key fields in the analysis are the Analyze field and the Break down by field. For the six default options listed above, these fields are populated automatically.
When using a custom analysis configuration, you define the values of these fields yourself.
For demonstration purposes, we will analyze only the first default option — we will select "Which customer generated the highest turnover/profit?".
You can also choose from a wide range of additional parameters:
Document dates - Determines which date will be used for including a document in the analysis.
Document issue/posting date - The date range for which you want to analyze documents. This is linked to the document dates above. You can choose from year and month, accounting period and month, common presets, a custom date range, or the last X days.
Cost center - Specifies which cost center the analysis should cover. Leaving the field empty includes all cost centers.
Include non-catalog items - A toggle that determines whether price list items are included in the analysis. Useful when analyzing product movement.
Include non-accounting documents - A toggle that determines whether non-accounting documents are included in the analysis. Non-accounting documents refer to non-accounting document types — advance payments and proforma invoices.
Once you have configured the settings as needed, you can confirm the analysis generation by clicking the Analyze button.
The output above shows the turnover for two companies:
ABRA Software a.s. — The turnover with this company amounted to CZK 183,240 and costs were CZK 0. This means the gross margin equals the full turnover amount, resulting in a profit of 100%.
ARIT s.r.o. — The turnover with this company amounted to CZK 84,420 and costs were CZK 0. This means the gross margin equals the full turnover amount, resulting in a profit of 100%.
The sales analysis output contains a large number of columns. Many of them are not relevant for every type of analysis.
As with any other agenda, you can customize the columns in the output to suit your needs. You can freely reorder them, hide them from the view, or display them again. By right-clicking on the column header, you can easily access the column settings.
Below are descriptions of several important columns:
Total excl. VAT - Total turnover for a specific customer. The value is affected by the analysis generation method.
Costs - Total costs. For stock items, these are calculated from the stock price. For non-stock items, from the purchase price listed in the price list.
Discount - The total discount value on sales documents. Displayed in the analysis both as an amount and as a percentage.
Gross margin - The difference between the total amount excl. VAT and costs.
Profit [%] - Profit as a percentage.
Total UoM - The total number of units of measure for line items. Useful when analyzing product movement.
