Destinations - GUI

How do I get multiple delivery addresses under one customer in the desktop application?

Written by Petr Pech

Are your customers buyers who need goods delivered to multiple addresses? If so, that's exactly what destinations are for. They allow you to assign any number of delivery addresses to a single customer.

Destinations also have general documentation describing the individual fields, which you can find together with the address book documentation.

How and where to create a destination?

There are basically two options - from the business partner's record, or from the destinations register.

From the business partner's record

After switching to the address book ("Business Partners - Company Addresses"), open any business partner. Destinations can be found in the bottom tab bar.

After switching to the tab indicated above, we can easily create a new destination using the "Add" button.

Here you can fill in a number of details, most importantly the address, which is transferred to the corresponding invoice (or sales document).

Details such as phone, mobile, e-mail, etc. are not transferred to the invoice. However, we can arrange a print report customization so that these details are printed as well.

In the same way, you can add all other destinations and save them to the given customer.

In the destination, you can specify whether it is the primary destination. If you mark a destination as primary, it will always be automatically filled in on the invoice.

From the business partners module

The second way to create a destination is to switch to the destinations register directly from the business partners module.

Here, as in any other register, we can create a new record using the "New" button.

The difference compared to the previous method of creating a destination is that here you must specify the company to which the destination belongs. In the previous method, this was determined automatically by the logic of the situation.

Using a destination in a document

In an invoice, you'll find the destination in the business partner section, under the "Destination" tab.

After switching to this tab, we can select any destination from those previously created for the business partner - by clicking into the destinations drop-down list.

If you have selected the correct destination and the invoice has been created correctly with all other details, we can take a look at the print preview.

By default, the destination is printed below the postal address. However, if desired, as already mentioned, the print report can be customized to suit your requirements.
