List of Rewards in ABRA Flexi

Written by Lenka Haringerová

This guide provides an overview of all bonuses that can be entered in ABRA Flexi and their characteristics.

Where to set up a bonus

Bonuses can be set up in the Employees - HR menu or in Employees - Wage Updates. In HR, bonuses can be set up on the Permanent Wage Components tab by clicking the New button and selecting the relevant wage component using the magnifying glass button. If the bonus you need is not listed there, you can select any other bonus that affects the wage in the same way and then enter the desired bonus name in the Name field. A complete overview of all bonuses and their characteristics, including how they affect the wage, can be found below.

Fill in the start date and, if applicable, the end date if the bonus is for a fixed term. The remaining fields will become available depending on which wage component you select.

A similar table can be found in the Employees - Wage Updates menu on the Bonuses tab, where you click the New button:

Again, select the wage component using the magnifying glass button, then fill in the base, amount, or percentage/constant as required by the wage component's characteristics. In the Name field, you can rename the bonus as needed. It is also advisable to check the user-defined amount change option so that the bonus does not disappear if you need to cancel the calculation of the given wage.

After saving, you must recalculate the wage.

Characteristics of individual bonuses

On the bonuses tab, you can choose from the following options:

Below is a description of what each bonus type is used for.

Monthly bonus

This is a standard monthly bonus that is included in the base for health insurance (HI) and social insurance (SI), tax, and affects the employment law average.

The "Monthly Bonus" wage component is not subject to reduction based on the working time fund. The financial amount is entered in the "Amount" field. The record is then automatically reflected in the wage.

Extraordinary bonus for multiple months

This wage component is used when an employee receives, for example, an annual bonus and it needs to be spread across the employment law average for the entire year, rather than affecting only the following quarter.

Enter the bonus in the month when the employee is to receive it. Enter the total bonus amount in the Amount field, and in the Bonus/Premium for months field, enter the number of months over which the bonus should be spread.

After recalculating the wage, the payslip will appear as follows:

Fixed-amount premium

A fixed-amount premium refers to a one-time or monthly premium set as a fixed wage amount. The premium is included in the base for HI, SI, taxes, and for the calculation of the average earnings (PPP).

Fixed-amount premium (calculated in a manner similar to the monthly wage)

When using the "FIXED PREMIUM" wage component, the amount paid is reduced according to the working time fund, meaning the calculation method works on the same principle as the monthly wage. The financial amount is entered in the "Wage Base" field. The record is then automatically reflected in the wage.

Premium as a % of base wage

The percentage-of-base-wage premium behaves similarly to the fixed-amount premium, but is set as a percentage in the Percentage/Constant field along with a Base value. The resulting amount is calculated automatically when you press Enter.

Profit share % of profit/base

For the Profit Share % of profit/base bonus, enter the percentage in the Percentage/Constant field and the profit or base amount for the calculation in the Base field:

This bonus affects HI, SI, and tax, and is also included in the PPP calculation.

Anniversary bonus

If you pay employees a bonus for a personal anniversary or milestone, you can use this component. This bonus is included in the base for HI, SI, and taxes, but does not affect the PPP calculation.

Invention reward

The invention reward amount is entered in the Amount field.

This bonus is included in the base for tax calculation, but is not included in the base for HI, SI, or the PPP calculation.

Statutory body member bonus

The bonus for statutory body members is also entered in the Amount field. This bonus is included in the tax, HI, and SI calculations, but does not affect the PPP calculation.

Statutory body member bonus – non-resident

This bonus is similar to the statutory body member bonus, but applies to tax non-residents. It is also included in the base for tax, HI, and SI, and does not affect the PPP calculation.

Other bonuses

The Other Bonuses component is a general-purpose bonus for any purpose. It is included in all bases — tax, HI, SI — and also in the PPP calculation.

Informational component for employees

As its name suggests, this component is informational only. The bonus information will appear on the payslip, but it will not affect the gross or net wage calculation, nor will it affect the insurance bases, tax, or employment law average.

Setting up a custom component for a bonus

If none of the bonus types mentioned above suits your needs, you can create your own bonus type by modifying one of the user-defined bonuses in the Employees - Wage Component Settings menu.

You can then rename this bonus as you wish and choose how it should be calculated (based on wage base, fixed amount, percentage, or hourly rate).

For example, when setting up a fixed bonus (premium) that should not be subject to reduction based on the working time fund, it is recommended to use the "user bonuses" wage component. The financial amount is entered in the "Amount" field. The record is then automatically reflected in the wage.
