What Can Be Processed in the Employees Module

What features does the ABRA Flexi payroll module support

Written by Hana Straková

ABRA Flexi is ideal for companies with a smaller number of employees that do not need a dedicated payroll application. For companies with 50 or more employees, or those with many employees subject to wage garnishments, we recommend purchasing software specifically designed for payroll processing. However, if you belong to the first group, ABRA Flexi can be an excellent tool for you.

ABRA Flexi can calculate wages based on pre-defined criteria and generate payables for employees and financial institutions from the payroll. For regular employment contracts, it is sufficient to adjust a few parameters — such as vacation days taken — and the program will handle the payroll calculation automatically. You will also find basic reports for the health insurance company, the Czech Social Security Administration (OSSZ), the tax office, and the labor office. You can learn more about what can be processed in the application and how it works in our video.

Below in this article you will find a list of features that ABRA Flexi currently does not support. You will also find guidance on how to proceed with payroll entry if any of these cases apply.

Wage garnishments

ABRA Flexi cannot calculate wage garnishments. A garnishment deduction can be entered, but no further support is available — it is not possible to track the initial value of the garnishment or its running balance. Garnishments will appear in section IV — Wage Deductions on the employment record document if entered correctly in the Deductions tab in HR. Practical example here

Salary change within a single month

· ABRA Flexi does not support salary changes within a single month; all changes affecting the salary should be entered as of the 1st of the month. If an employee's salary changes during the course of a month, the salary may not be calculated correctly. This must be reviewed and, if necessary, the amount adjusted manually directly in the Payroll Update menu. You can use our guide.

Minimum wage and minimum hourly wage

· Minimum wage and minimum hourly wageABRA Flexi does not check these; they need to be monitored by the user and corrected if necessary during payroll calculation using a wage componentTop-up to average earnings or Top-up to minimum wage. The application does contain minimum wage data, but this information is used solely for the health insurance top-up payment or, where applicable, for environment allowances.

Adding a wage component

· Wage components must be used from our predefined code list and cannot be added freely (some of them are user-configurable — the name can be overwritten)

Irregular employment contracts

· Irregular employment contracts — by default, ABRA Flexi uses a regular weekly schedule Monday–Sunday, based on which shifts are generated automatically. Even for irregular schedules — such as alternating short and long weeks — the functionality will work correctly, but shifts must be entered manually in the shift schedule table. Entering hours only at the time of payroll calculation, or adding hours in the payroll update, has no connection to shifts, which can then cause issues in the case of public holidays, vacation, and other absences

Social and health insurance contributions in another country

· ABRA Flexi cannot handle employees who pay health or social insurance contributions in another country — contributions are always calculated, and in the case of social insurance they cannot be changed manually either

Registration / deregistration for agreement-based contracts

· For agreements to perform work activities (DPČ) or agreements to complete a job (DPP) where the decisive income threshold changes during the year, ABRA Flexi cannot generate the corresponding registration or deregistration for social and health insurance

Annual settlement of advance and withholding tax

· Annual settlement of advance and withholding taxABRA Flexi only generates the underlying data; an XML file is produced that must be finalized on the mfcr.cz website, as not all required data is currently available within ABRA Flexi

Confirmations for banks and other institutions

· ABRA Flexi cannot issue various confirmations for banks and other institutions — such as net income for the last 12 months, the last quarter, etc. In some cases, the labor office output Employee Income Statement can be used, as it contains this information.

Direct connection to data mailboxes

· Direct connection to data mailboxes is not currently planned

Integration with attendance systems

· The ABRA Flexi API is ready for integration with attendance systems. This is not supported on our side — the user must arrange it independently. Basic imports from Excel are available in HR and the application can also import absences — such as sick leave — via an XML file from the Czech Social Security Administration (ČSSZ). However, for example, importing monthly bonuses via wage components using Excel, which would simplify payroll calculation, is not yet available

Payroll print outputs

· All payroll print outputs in ABRA Flexi are in Czech and cannot be changed by the user
