Excel Imports - Labels (WUI)

Import Labels from Excel via Web Interface

Written by Petr Pech

In this article, you will find instructions on how to create an Excel import file that can be uploaded via the web interface. Labels can be imported using Excel only in the web interface; importing labels from Excel is not available in the desktop application.

Imports can be used to enter new information or to bulk-update existing records.

To get started, we recommend first reading the article on Excel imports in the web interface.

Labels

After selecting the "Import from Excel" option, it is important to remember which file you are uploading. Once the file is uploaded, Flexi will generate an overview in the next step, where one column displays the columns from Excel and the other displays the columns in Flexi (these columns must be reviewed and completed if necessary). If you have forgotten any column, it can be added via "Advanced options".

Example import file: stitky.xls

Below, we will look at the columns that are required by default for a successful import:

Column

Description

Code

The code/abbreviation of the given company under which it will be recorded in ABRA Flexi. Any abbreviation of up to 20 characters. Required field for both creating and updating a record. Required field

Name

The name of the label. Required field

Price list

This field determines where the label can be used; it accepts the values TRUE/FALSE (true/false). Optional field.

Warehouse

Defines the use of the label on warehouse movements. TRUE/FALSE (true/false). Optional field

Issued invoices

Defines the use of the label on issued invoices. TRUE/FALSE (true/false). Optional field

All properties of the Labels record can be found at:

In the web interface, it is of course possible to add more columns via the settings in the bottom right corner. The easiest way to determine the format of individual fields is to use Export to Excel in the format suitable for import into Flexi.

Importing Labels from Excel

We will now look at importing a file that contains a new record alongside an existing record that is being updated. If you want to modify an existing record, use the Code field.

The Excel import offers a window for selecting a file, or you can drag and drop it from a folder on your PC:

The Excel file will be formatted as follows:

Flexi will now automatically distinguish individual columns based on the header in Excel (even with this automation, always verify the information and columns, as some columns may not be correctly identified).

First, a test import will run to verify that the data is correctly formatted. Within a single import, data can be both modified and created.

After reviewing, you can import the file by clicking the "Import" button in the bottom right corner. The same window will appear confirming the success of the import.
