Dual Currency in Croatia

Croatia Introduces Dual Currency on September 5, with Full Transition to the Euro on January 1, 2023

Written by Petr Pech

Croatia has been transitioning to the EUR currency since 2023. Prior to the full switch to the euro, a dual currency system has been in effect from 5 September 2022 to help residents get accustomed to the new currency.

Suppliers and sellers are required to display dual prices on documents — in both EUR and HRK. If you supply goods or services to Croatia, you must include this information on your documents.

In ABRA Flexi, you can set the conversion rate and dual currency directly in company settings.

You can find this setting under Company > Settings > Legislation.

This setting allows you to display two currencies on print reports along with the conversion rate.

The conversion rate is set at 7.5345 kuna per euro. If your dual currency is HRK, you need to enter the inverse rate of 0.133076.

The resulting configuration will be reflected on the print report.

Note: This setting is global and will apply to all invoices for all partners.

If you want to issue invoices in two currencies only for selected partners, you will need to create a custom print report. You can make the customization using the external tool JasperSoft Studio. Alternatively, we can customize the print report for you on a bespoke basis. The hourly rate for customizations is CZK 1,600 excluding VAT. The total effort depends on the complexity of the changes and the number of reports. The standard delivery time is 14 days after receipt of the advance payment.
