If you choose not to transition to the Basic plan with the modern web interface, you can continue using Flexi ONE locally without the option to receive updates.
NOTICE
Flexi can be used in local mode without updates in the last version released for 2022, available for download here (select the version for your OS; do not download files containing "client" — these are intended solely for connecting to the cloud or your own server, not for local installation). However, we cannot guarantee functionality after, for example, a future update to your operating system. The license file for local use may only be used on one specific computer in accordance with our terms of use.
Steps:
1) Download a backup from the cloud. If you have multiple companies in the cloud, you will need to back up all of them.
2) Uninstall ABRA Flexi and perform a fresh installation of the universal ABRA Flexi package, version 2022.5.8 or earlier (Local installation).
3) Launch the application for the first time, activate it with the license file, create a user, and restore data from the backup.
Let's start by accessing your customer link. This was sent to you in the email informing you about the process of converting your license to local use. Alternatively, you can access it directly from Flexi via Help -> My ABRA Flexi.
On this page, under Setup Guide, you will find everything you need.
Click on Setup Guide.
1) Downloading a backup from the cloud
The easiest method is to download a backup directly from your customer link. Once logged in, you can download backups of all your companies to your computer. Alternatively, you can generate a backup directly from Flexi by following the instructions.
We recommend the first option — it is faster and simpler overall.
2) Uninstalling and performing a fresh installation of the universal ABRA Flexi package
The first step is to uninstall the Flexi client package that was used to connect to the cloud.
Uninstallation
Windows
Go to the Start menu and in the list of programs, select the ABRA Flexi folder. Click the Flexi (Uninstall) link. The uninstallation window will then open. Alternatively, right-click on Flexi and select Uninstall.
The first uninstallation window informs you about the program that will be removed from your computer. Click the Next button.
In the next step, choose whether you also want to remove the data for your accounting companies. This option only affects data stored locally on the computer — that is, only if you have previously used Flexi locally and there is data in the local database. It does not affect data stored in the cloud. Clicking the Uninstall button will uninstall the program and, if selected, remove all local accounting company data as well. If you choose this option, the program will ask you once more to confirm that you wish to proceed.
MacOS
If you wish to completely remove Flexi from your system, mount the installation DMG, which contains the Uninstaller.app uninstallation program. Run it under an administrator account and click the uninstall button. If you also want to remove user settings and any local accounting company data (if any was previously stored in local storage), check the corresponding option. Uninstallation does not affect data stored in the cloud.
Linux
For details on uninstallation, see here.
Fresh Installation
Download the universal ABRA Flexi application package for your operating system (Windows, MacOS, or Linux). Your customer link will offer you the correct version directly. For Linux, please follow this guide.
Once the file is downloaded, run it and complete the installation by following the installation guide.
It is important that you select local (Local) as the installation type.
3) First launch, license file activation, user creation, and data restore from backup.
Is the installation complete? Launch Flexi and upload the license file you downloaded from your customer link. If everything went smoothly, the application will automatically prompt you to import the license, as it will be an unregistered version.
The system will now prompt you to create the first user in the local database (the so-called First Launch). Feel free to choose the same login credentials you used in your original cloud instance — the choice is yours.
If everything completed correctly, you will have the application ready with the data source set to Local Computer (Connect to). All that remains is to log in with the username and password you just created.
You will then be taken to the company list, which will understandably be empty. This is the point at which you should create your company by restoring data from a backup.
All done? Your data has now been migrated to local storage. Please keep in mind that under the free ONE plan, it is no longer possible (as of January 1, 2023) to perform subsequent updates or access technical support. If you would like to take advantage of these benefits in the future, please contact our sales department.
