Chart of Accounts Setup
Even in a newly created "clean" company, the most commonly used analytical accounts are already set up in Accounting – Chart of Accounts; these are used in pre-configured document types or posting rules. You are not required to use these accounts — you can create your own analytical accounts (two- or three-digit).
Review the existing accounts. Using the Edit option, you can correct the account number (analytical code) or update/add the account name. Using the New option, you can create a new account. The software automatically checks for duplicate accounts.
Adding New Account Numbers
To add accounts to the chart of accounts, you can also use Excel import, available under the import icon. During import, an analytical account is created without a direct link to the Standard Chart of Accounts (see Tools – Code Lists – Standard Chart of Accounts). Therefore, you must open each imported account using the Edit option and add the link to the synthetic account.
Please note that the Standard Chart of Accounts is mandatory. Only synthetic accounts with an account type of Off-balance Sheet or Intra-company may be added.
Posting Rules in Tax Records
For organizations of the type Sole Traders – Tax Records, accounts are replaced by posting rules. You can find the list of posting rules under Tools – Code Lists – Posting Rules. You can of course add any new ones that you use.
