This article provides instructions on how to prepare an Excel import file for the chart of accounts, which can be uploaded to the Flexi web interface.
The import allows you to:
add new accounts,
bulk-update existing accounts.
To get started, we recommend first reading the article on Excel imports in the web interface.
Chart of accounts import – overview
This import is intended exclusively for analytical accounts (synthetic accounts are defined by law).
By default, a newly created company in the Accounting → Chart of Accounts section already contains the commonly used analytical accounts that are applied in default document types and posting templates.
Using these preset accounts is not mandatory – you can import your own analytical accounts (two- or three-digit).
Preparing the import
After selecting "Import from Excel" and uploading the file, a column overview is displayed:
on the left, the columns from Excel,
on the right, the corresponding fields in Flexi.
You must carefully verify the column mapping and, if necessary, fill in any missing values using "Advanced options".
Standard (visible) and required columns
Account – six-digit analytical account number (required field).
Synthetic account – three-digit synthetic account number from the standard chart of accounts.
Name – text name of the account.
Account type – type of account (e.g. balance sheet, profit/loss, closing, intra-company, off-balance sheet).
typUctu.rozvahovy
typUctu.vysledkovy
typUctu.zaverkovy
typUctu.vnitropodnikovy
typUctu.podrozvahovy
Tax – indicates whether the account is a tax account (yes/no). This field is relevant when the account is a profit/loss account, for the purposes of tax deductibility.
Balance – indicates whether the account falls within the balance (yes/no).
Currency – currency code for the chart of accounts.
Additional columns can be added in the web interface via the settings in the bottom-right corner. The easiest way to determine the exact field format is to use Export to Excel in a format suitable for import.
All account record properties can be explored in the Flexi demo:

Practical example – chart of accounts import
In the Chart of Accounts agenda, click "Import from Excel".
Select the Excel file (e.g.
UctovyRozvrh.xlsx).Flexi automatically identifies columns based on the header row – even so, verify that each column is correctly assigned.
First, a test import runs to validate the accuracy of the entered data.
If everything looks correct, confirm the import by clicking "Import". Flexi will notify you of any new records, changes, or errors.
Then confirm the import a second time, and the data will be transferred into the system.
After a successful import, the analytical chart of accounts will be created or updated.
