Unifying warehouses

Unifying Warehouses in Flexi

Written by Lenka Haringerová

If you have multiple warehouses in ABRA Flexi and need to merge them into a single one, there are two approaches available. In most cases, it makes sense to combine them: first physically transfer the stock, then limit the validity of the unused warehouses.

Transferring stock to a single warehouse

If you have multiple warehouses in Flexi and need to unify them into one, the easiest way is to use transfer notes to remove everything from the warehouses and stock it into the one you've chosen.

Limiting the validity of unused warehouses

Alternatively, in the Goods module - Warehouse List - after opening a warehouse - on the Administration tab, you can limit the validity of individual warehouses, e.g. until 2017, and after initializing the next accounting period, they will no longer be visible in subsequent accounting periods.

What to watch out for

⚠️ If any of the warehouses was created due to a transition to a different inventory valuation method, check with your accountant before merging whether transferring the stock is desirable. Merging will cause movements valued under the original and the new method to end up on the same stock card. The context is described in the article Inventory Valuation Methods.

ℹ️ Limiting validity does not remove the warehouse, it only hides it in subsequent accounting periods. Historical documents and stock cards remain traceable in their original periods.
