What is Program Control? Documentation of Basic Application Access

Written by Petr Pech

🖱️ Program Controls

Controlling the program means accessing modules, functions, and administrative tasks (creating a company, configuring settings, code lists, documents, etc.). Controls can be divided into three main methods — choose the one that works best for you:

  • Side navigation (left menu)

  • Workspace (right side of the screen)

  • Menu bar (top menu)

At the bottom of the application you can always see the status bar with useful information.

🧭 Side Navigation

The side navigation (left panel) contains buttons with module names:
Business Partners, Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, Money, Assets, Employees, Accounting.

  • Clicking on a module expands a list of the most frequently used documents and lists in the side navigation.

  • At the same time, the Workspace tab for the selected module appears on the right (containing the main options for everyday work).

  • Right-clicking allows you to open a record or list in a separate window (you can have multiple windows open for visual cross-checking).

  • Clicking on a different module closes the previous panel and opens a new one.

🔎 Side Navigation Header

The top section of the side navigation displays quick information and enables quick actions:

  • Company name — clicking it opens the Company Settings dialog.

  • Accounting period — displays the current fiscal year (switch quickly using the arrows or the Manage Accounting Periods dialog).

    • Example: you have the years 2024 and 2025; if you switch to 2025, documents you create will have dates from 2025.

  • Period 2024 not closed — a warning that appears when an accounting period is open or has been reopened after modification.

  • All cost centers — a quick filter by cost center; selecting a single cost center will display only documents belonging to that cost center in the tables.

Note: When you change the accounting period, all open tables in the right workspace will be closed.

🧩 Workspace

The workspace is the right side of the screen — the area where you work with your data.

  • Clicking on a module in the side navigation opens the Module Workspace tab (containing icons and buttons for the module's most important functions).

  • You can have multiple tabs open at the same time; they are closed using the × on the tab.

  • Each tab contains a set of menus and quick actions related to the given module.

📋 Menu Bar

The top bar of the program contains the main menu with access to all program functions — it is commonly used when setting up accounting or performing administrative tasks.

📊 Status Bar

The status bar is located at the bottom of the screen and serves several purposes:

  • left side: the name of the logged-in user,

  • right side (in tables): information about your position in the table — for example, 5/23 means you are on row 5 of 23; when a document is open, it shows which document in the set you currently have open,

  • In dialogs, error messages or contextual help information are displayed here while filling in fields.

✅ Recommendations for Users

  • Choose the control method (side navigation vs. workspace vs. menu bar) that you find most comfortable.

  • Before you start working, familiarize yourself with the side navigation header (for quickly switching between companies and periods).

  • Use the right mouse button to open lists in separate windows — this makes it easier to review data in parallel.

  • Keep an eye on the status bar while working in a dialog — it displays errors and contextual information.
