Changing Password - GUI / WUI

How to change your password in the desktop and web app, how to change another user's password, and what to do if you forget your password.

Written by Petr Pech

You can change your password in both the desktop and web applications. It depends on whose password you're changing — your own, or another user's.

Changing Your Own Password

Desktop Application

You can make this change in the Tools module.

A password change form will open. Enter your correct current password and the new password twice — then confirm the form.

Web Application

You'll find the password change option under the user profile — the icon in the top-right corner of the application.

Changing the Password of Other Users

For this task, you need the server permission. Without it, you won't find the password field on another user's detail page.

Desktop Application

In the Tools module, open the Users in the Company agenda, then open the detail of the specific user.

On the user's detail page, go to the Login Credentials tab, where you'll find the field for the new password.

Web Application

The procedure is similar. Open the Users in the Company agenda — for example via search — and then open the edit form for the specific user.

Confirming the form will change the password.

FAQ

I forgot my password — how do I reset it?

At login, choose the Forgot Password option. A reset token will be sent to the registration email listed for your user account. If you don't have a registration email set up, contact your license administrator.

How do I reset the password of the cloud license administrator?

If the administrator doesn't have a registration email, the reset must be performed by our development team. In that case, please contact customer support.

Can I reset a password on my own server without a registration email?

Yes. On both server and local installations, this can be done using a script included with Flexi — instructions for Windows, macOS, and Linux can be found in the article Password Reset on Server and Local Installations.

What permissions do I need to manage users?

All of them are found among the server permissions. For a general overview of working with users, see the article How to Work with Users.
